Mr. Weeks was an editor at Atlantic Magazine. In 1938, Edward Weeks became the 9th editor of Atlantic magazine, considered a thoughtful and stylish publication. It was close to bankrupcy. He started an NBC radio show, Meet Mr. Weeks, host to authors of interest, and attracted still more authors and readers to Atlantic. His career there would span 28 years of growth and continued success for Atlantic and for himself as a writer, editor and lecturer. He lived in Beacon Hill, Boston with his family at the time of publication.

He died in 1989 at the age of 91. Weeks was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He attended Cornell and Harvard universities before he earned an LL.D. degree from Cambridge.
