There is a black mark on two pages towards end of the book with a few dog ear pages. This does not effect reading any of the pages though. The front flyleaf has a bookplate (Merle E. Bredwell).

Hawke does a great job of capturing the essence of Paine's ideas and how they have shaped American history.
