A compelling intersection of literature, theater, and cinema, this stated first American edition presents The Film of Murder in the Cathedral, adapted from T. S. Eliot’s landmark verse drama. Originally written for the stage in 1935, Eliot’s meditation on faith, power, and martyrdom was later translated to film, bringing the poetic intensity of the work to a wider audience.

Beautiful color stain glass window artwork on the front and back covers. The front and back covers of the program are by the great British poster artist and designer Peter Strausfeld who did the poster for the film, and also the front cover dustjacket of the book is also illustrated with his design. Eliot's voice is heard in the film as the Fourth Tempter.
