Bullet Park is a novel about a group of teenage boys who spend their summer break in a park on the outskirts of town. The boys are from different backgrounds and are trying to figure out who they are and what they want in life. The novel is full of adventure and suspense.

This was Cheever's third novel, his first The Whapshot Chronicle, won the 1958 National Book Award. By the time of his death in 1982, the Pulitzer Prize winning author, had published five books and what many consider some of the most brilliant short stories ever published during his 50-year writing career.
