Sylvia Plath. First American Edition, later printing. Has a 1972 publication date (first edition not stated and does not have "D-Q" code on copyright page). Last page has 72-73-74-75 10 9. The American Edition is actually the second edition. Introduction by Robert Lowell. Dust Jacket: Very Good. The dust jacket, however, bears the first state code "0666" for June of 1966, for the release date of the first printing. Price clipped jacket (the original $4.95 is missing). Only one corner of jacket is clipped. There is a small hole and tear on spine of jacket, otherwise in very good shape with vibrant color. Jacket design by the great Ellen Raskin. Hardcover: Very Good+ New York: Harper, Row and Publishers, 1966. Black cloth with emblem on front cover with periwinkle colored lettering on cover and spine. Front flyleaf page is clipped, otherwise the book is solid. No writing or markings, 85 pp.

A beautiful copy of a very scarce edition of Plath's poems, published posthumously by Ted Hughes. Note: The last copyright date is 1965 but the introduction was written by Lowell in 1966.

This was Plath's third book, The Colossus was published in 1960. The Bell Jar was published a month before her death (1963).
