Title:

Ezra Pound – A Draft of XXX Cantos (First American Edition, 1933)

Description:

First American edition of Ezra Pound’s foundational work of modernist poetry, published by Farrar & Rinehart in 1933. One of only 1,000 copies printed. This edition contains a cancel leaf at pages 61–62, and the word "sh-t" as noted in Gallup A31c.

Bound in black cloth with silver spine lettering, this copy is in Very Good condition: slight rubbing to the boards, mild foxing to fore-edge, and a faint cock to the binding. Lacks the original dust jacket.

Pound’s Cantos stands among the most ambitious poetic projects of the 20th century, and this volume—containing the first 30 cantos—is where the journey began for American readers.

A cornerstone of literary modernism and an essential acquisition for serious collectors of Pound, modernist poetry, or 1930's literary firsts.
