This famous posthumously published book by Hemingway is about his years in Paris (early 1920's) together with his first wife Hadley when they considered themselves "poor." During this time, they met many other artists and writers including Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ford Madox Ford, John Dos Passos, and James Joyce.
