The Defector is the story of a young man who, after years of hiding in the shadows of Eastern Europe, comes out into the open and decides to defect, risking everything to tell the world the truth about his country. The novel chronicles the tales of fictional female secret agent, Davina Graham, who becomes the MI5 director. She was influenced by friends of her father, who worked with the Special Operations Executive during World War II.
Evelyn Anthony (1926 - 2018), started writing at 17 and had a prolific writing career as a best-selling author. Her last novel was Mind Games (2005). Her most famous novel, The Tamarind Seed (1971), was adapted into a film of the same name in 1974, starring Julie Andrews as Judith Farrow, and Omar Sharif.
