Designed by Cynthia Krupat with photo on rear jacket by Mark Gerson. There is a small tear in jacket that has been taped. There is also some foxing and chipping. Hardcover: Very Good. Yellow cloth with black spine and gold lettering on the spine. Fixing on rear inside cover. Small tape mark remainder also on cover. Otherwise no markings or writing in the book, 278 pp.
Golding won a Pulitzer Prize for Literatire in 1983 for all his writing efforts including Lord of the Flies (1954). The Rights of Passage is considered, by many, one of his best works and was published after Darkness Visible.
In 2008, The Times ranked Golding third on its list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945."
