Has the original price $5.00 on inside flap. No writing or markings found in the book, 672 pp. Jacket has some chipping along spine and edges. There are a few small tears in the dust jacket as well, and a front corner piece is missing but this does not effect the overall integrity.
Describes Lawrence's time spent as military advisor to the Bedouin forces during the revolt against the Ottoman Turks between 1916 and 1918. This work was first printed privately in 1926, before being released commercially in 1935. Colonel Thomas Edward Lawrence (1888-1935) was a British army officer, diplomat and archaeologist renowned for the role he played during the Arab Revolt. The scope of his work and his writings inspired the nickname 'Lawrence of Arabia'.
A very scarce copy in jacket of this landmark memoir and inspirational story; basis of the acclaimed 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia directed by David Lean starring Peter O'Toole as T.E. Lawrence. The book was privately printed in 1926 with a limited print run of 350 copies.
