Price of $6.95 is missing on the front jacket flap. With in-text drawings by the author's wife Berdine Ardrey. No writing or markings in the book, 370 pp. Has a small, missing piece on front dust jacket. 

The second and best-known book in the author's Nature of Man series. Ardrey's book was the cause of considerable controversy in the social sciences in the late 1960's and early 1970's and was also a popular success, inspiring a great deal of interest in anthropology and the study of human origins amongst the general public.
