The Killer Angels is a character-driven novel that tells the story of the Battle of Gettysburg from the perspectives of Union and Confederate officers. The book was originally published in 1974 and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1975.
Michael's son Jeff completed the Civil War trilogy, 20 years later, with Gods and Generals and The Last Full Measure.
