T.E. Lawrence. First American edition, first printing. New York: George H. Doran Company, 1927. Unclipped dust jacket, with original price $3.00 on inside flap, is in Very Good condition. In a mylar protective wrapper. There is minor chipping and the backside of jacket is taped. Other than a small bookstore sticker on back flyleaf, no writing or markings in the book, 335 pp. With 16 b/w plates on coated paper, including a folding map that is in perfect condition.

The book is "an account of the experiences of one remarkable British officer's war from his own perspective. His was a fluid irregular's war of lightning raids, of blown up railway tracks and trains, ambuscade and-towards the end-of open battle as the defeated Ottoman Turkish Army were harried as they retreated northwards."

Lawrence's Seven Pillars of Wisdom (1935) is a longer form of the book at almost double the page count and released to the international market. Revolt in the Desert is the only version of Seven Pillars of Wisdom published for the general public in Lawrence's lifetime.

The English edition is much more available in dust jacket and is a plain typographical dust jacket, whereas the American in dust jacket is much scarcer and has a terrific art deco design of a robed Arab brandishing a sword while riding a camel on the front panel.
