Alfred Edward Housman was a celebrated English poet and scholar born in Worcestershire, England, on March 26, 1859. He is known for his collection of poems titled "A Shropshire Lad" and for his meticulous and intelligent commentaries on Latin texts. He passed away in April, 1936 and this edition of poems was published in October.
