Betancourt was kidnapped by the Columbian Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) while campaigning for the Colombian presidency and held for over six years before being rescued by Colombian security forces with 14 other hostages. She has received multiple international awards, such as the Légion d'honneur and the Concord Prince of Asturias Award. She was also nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. She is the author of the autobiography 'Until Death Do Us Part: My Struggle to Reclaim Colombia'. This is a rare signed copy.
