Buck was the first women to win a Nobel Prize for Literature in 1938. She also won a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1932 for The Good Earth.
In Command the Morning, Buck writes about the biggest issue of the time, man's conquests of the atom. The story follows the course of actual events but told through fictitious characters like scientist Burton Hall and his wife Molly. A fascinating read!
