Robert Finch. First edition. New York: W.W. Norton and Company, 1993. Both unclipped dust jacket, in a mylar protective wrapper, and hardcover are in Near Fine condition. Jacket design by Francine Kaas. No writing or markings in the book, 435 pp.

Includes excerpts from authors like Conrad Aiken, Henry David Thoreau, William Bradford, Melville, Emerson, John Hay, Howard Nemerov, Edmund Wilson, Marge Piercy, Alan Dugan, Mary Oliver, Thomas Merton, Helen Keller, Annie Dillard, Richard Wilbur, Henry Beston, Lewis Thomas, and many others. Makes a strong case for the significance of Cape Cod and its environment in American literature.

This wonderful edition was edited by Finch and four contributors: Stanley Kunitz, Mark Doty, Mary Lou Weisman, and E.J. Kahn Jr. Kunitz and Doty are both winners of the National Book Award (Kunitz won a Pulitzer, too).
